About Us
Climate Things is an emerging global collective of library, museum, and cultural professionals (and many other types of people!) who develop transformational initiatives for culture and climate action.
This website, currently in its first iteration, is just a place to hang our hats and post some info as we get organized and get our projects started.
23 Climate Things and The Culture for Climate Innovation Prize are being guided and bootstrapped by Michael Peter Edson and a growing group of cultural organizations & leaders including,

We have held many workshops to date: Digital, Culture, and the Transformation of Europe was convened in Leiden, The Netherlands, in November 2021 and a design charrette for 23 Climate Things and the Culture for Climate Innovation Prize was held in The Hague, NL, in May 2022. Subsequent workshops have been held at LibraryNext (Aarhus, 2023), Computers in Libraries (Washington, D.C. 2023), University of North Carolina (Greensboro, 2023), and the Museum of Solutions, Mumbai (2024).
Jan Holmquist, Julia Matamoros, and Surya HK are working with Michael Peter Edson in Q2-Q3 2024 to finalize the Climate Things business plan and develop a treatise.
